How to taper a pants in seam or out seam
- STEP 1 > Fit your garment and stand in front of a full-length mirror.
- STEP 2 > Tuck and pin the desired amount to the hem line
- STEP 3 > Lay the pants on the bed and mark the pin areas with a washable marker or chalk.
- STEP 4 > Turn the pants on the wrong side and re-pin securely following the marked line.
- STEP 5 > Re-fit and repeat steps 1-6 if necessary.
- STEP 6 > Stitch the marked area using a sewing machine or stitched by hand.
- The inseam is the stitch line that runs between your legs on either side of the pants. (The crotch area)
- The out seam is the stitch line that runs on the out side of your pants (side seams from the waist down to hem of the pants)
